Remittance Taxes are Not Good for Business - Policy Paper

The MSBA is the largest national trade association that represents licensed money services businesses and is comprised of 100 companies, many of which conduct business in Ohio. H.B. 451 would negatively impact Ohio consumers and small businesses while having minimal impact on the objectives the legislation is nominally designed to achieve. Moreover, H.B. 451 and similar state legislation is likely unconstitutional under the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.
